Alexander Zhu

Composer | Pianist

Classically trained composer, producer and pianist; his work focuses on place, belonging, and nostalgia.

Based in Los Angeles, his work can be heard on Netflix, Disney+, Cartoon Network and TF1. His pedagogical piano music is published by Hal-Leonard.

Raised in a cross-cultural household, his music draws inspiration from American 80s films, Asian ambient and experimental music, electronic and minimalist classical music. Equally at home with acoustic and electronic instruments, his scores range in tone from emotional to ambient to action-packed.

Alexander is Assistant Professor of Music at Occidental College and is chair of the Music Production and Composition Department at the Pasadena Conservatory.
